Terms of Service

Welcome to the nannynet. These Terms govern your access to and use of the nannynet platform, our website, mobile experience, and any related services. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms. Surferlabs LLC, a Florida limited liability company, operates the nannynet.

1. Who can use the nannynet

the nannynet is a private community for professional nannies and every role under that umbrella, including newborn care specialists, governesses, family assistants, household managers, travel nannies, and specialty caregivers. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Families, agencies, recruiters, and placement services are not eligible for membership, even if you also work as a nanny or newborn care specialist. Misrepresenting eligibility at application is grounds for removal without refund.

2. Your account

You sign in with your email address and password. An invite link from a founding community leader can approve your account. If you have not set a password yet, we may email you a one-time code so you can sign in and create one. You are responsible for all activity on your account, the accuracy of the information you provide, and the security of your login credentials; please don’t share your password or any code we send you.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to follow our Community Guidelines, including the citeable codes (NN-01 through NN-10), respect for member privacy, employer confidentiality, anti-discrimination, and anti-harassment standards. Those guidelines are part of these Terms. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

4. Content you post

You retain ownership of the content you post. You grant the nannynet a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute your content within the nannynet platform for the purpose of operating the service.

We may hide or remove content that violates these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or applicable law. Staff hide a post; they do not rewrite another member’s words. We are not obligated to monitor every post.

5. Job leads and the referral board

the nannynet is not an employment agency, placement service, or staffing firm. The referral board is a peer-shared community feature. the nannynet does not vet, employ, or place caregivers, and is not party to any working relationship between members and families. See our Placement Disclaimer.

6. Verification badges

Verified badges reflect specific checks completed at a moment in time. They are not endorsements, background checks, or guarantees. Read the Verification Policy for details.

7. Termination

You can deactivate your account anytime in Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, our Guidelines, or applicable law.

8. Disclaimers

the nannynet is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the nannynet’s aggregate liability arising from or related to your use of the service will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amounts you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration in Miami-Dade County, except where prohibited.

11. Changes

We’ll let you know when we update these Terms in a way that meaningfully affects your rights. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
